OCTOBER IS CHILD SAFETY MONTH

Do you have young children or pets in the home? While parents and grandparents must always remain vigilant in assessing potential dangers in the home, now is a good time to run through a safety check in the house. Parents of toddlers may even want to get on the floor to view what is within reach of their little ones.

Are your window treatments an issue? Exposed or dangling cords from blinds or shades pose a strangulation hazard. The U.S. Product Safety Commission cites window cords as one of the top five hidden dangers in the home. No worries! Window Treatments by Design has you covered! We can retrofit your existing shades or help you replace your window coverings with updated and safer products, including motorization.

Remember that blinds and shades should be either cordless or inaccessible, high from the ground. Keep children's beds and cribs a safe distance from all window coverings.
